The Rendlesham Forest incident, often referred to as “Britain’s Roswell,” occurred in late December 1980 near a U.S. Air Force base in Suffolk, England. Over several nights, multiple military personnel reported strange lights, unexplained phenomena, and close encounters with an unidentified craft in the forest. Since then, the case has become one of the most intriguing and well-documented UFO events in the UK, drawing attention from researchers, skeptics, and the media.
Now, the testimony of two former U.S. Air Force Security Police officers adds even more mystery and complexity to the incident. They claim to have witnessed a previously undisclosed UFO landing at another location during the famous Rendlesham incident in Britain. According to them, the event involved non-human entities and was captured on military film before being systematically suppressed.
Larry Warren and Steve Longero, both stationed at Bentwaters Air Base in December 1980, shared their accounts in a recent interview on Reality Check with investigative journalist Ross Coulthart. Warren stated that, in addition to the widely reported forest encounter involving Sergeant Jim Penniston and John Burroughs, a large triangular craft had landed at Capel Green, a nearby location, in a separate episode.
“It was a triangular object, about six meters across, rising to a rounded top,” Warren said. “There was an amber-red light on top that constantly shifted and changed.” He described the craft as white, silent, and only 4.5 meters away. Warren emphasized that the object’s shape seemed to defy conventional aerodynamics.

The most shocking aspect, according to Warren, is that entities emerged from the craft. “I’m not saying they were aliens, just that beings came out of the object,” he explained. “It was like part of the craft turned into a bubble on the ground.” He described three humanoid figures with large black eyes, resembling the so-called “Greys,” who reportedly communicated telepathically.
Although Warren’s account was dismissed for decades, recent investigations have uncovered multiple witnesses supporting his story. Adrian Bustinza, heard in Colonel Halt’s famous audio recording that night, confirmed Warren’s presence at Capel Green. Steve Longero, who shared a room with Warren during training, remained silent for 35 years before finally backing his colleague’s version. Warren also recently passed a polygraph administered by renowned British examiner Pat Ryder, answering all questions successfully.

One of the most striking claims involves the documentation of the incident. “There were cameras — still, film, and video cameras — all in the area,” Warren said. He added that British police also took photos, but all equipment was immediately confiscated by military officers.
Longero provides further context regarding the incident’s connection to nuclear weapons. He recounts patrolling the weapons storage area when the craft appeared, triggering all alarms in the facility. This aligns with Robert Hastings’ research documenting UFO incidents near nuclear installations worldwide. At the time, Bentwaters was one of NATO’s largest nuclear bases in Europe, with heavily fortified underground bunkers, making any unknown activity near these weapons a matter of national security.
Warren also describes systematic efforts to suppress the event: confiscation of footage and equipment, threats to witnesses, and a multi-decade campaign of defamation. According to him, official reports on the Rendlesham Forest incident make no mention of the Capel Green landing. Filmmaker Dion Johnson, after eight years investigating these claims for his documentary Capel Green, considers Warren’s account credible and corroborated by multiple witnesses. Even Adrian Bustinza confirmed the presence of three alien beings, though he later became more cautious in public statements.

Warren first revealed these details in 1983 to the News of the World under the pseudonym “Art Wallace,” but information regarding the entities and the recordings was largely omitted. British security investigator Gary Heseltine recently validated Warren’s military service and his presence at the base during the events.
