In 1966, in Melbourne, Australia, hundreds of people, including staff and students at a school, witnessed an unidentified flying object that left them intrigued for the rest of their lives.
Around 11 a.m., more than 200 students and teachers (some sources say over 300) at Westall High School, in Victoria, Melbourne, were shocked to see what could only be described as a “flying saucer” descending from the sky and landing in a field near a wooded area known locally as “La Grange,” which later became a nature reserve. After a short period, the object took off from the ground and traveled toward the residential area of Clayton South, Victoria.
What truly draws attention in the Westall Incident is the presence of what UFO researchers call “men in black.”
Within about 40 minutes, Air Force and Army personnel arrived in trucks and established a security perimeter around the reserve.

Three days later, on April 9, the site was visited by several uniformed officers from the Australian Armed Forces, accompanied by the local police department. Agents were seen collecting soil samples from the spot where the object had apparently touched down. A clearly flattened area of grass, which appeared to have been burned, was visible.
There were further reports of men in black suits visiting the school and speaking with students, who were individually taken to the principal’s office. The two men questioned the students about what they had seen and then ridiculed them. They were also warned not to speak about the incident, which disturbed many of the students. Teachers were similarly instructed not to discuss the matter during staff meetings. It was clear that someone wanted the incident to remain silent.
Frank Samblebe, the principal, was seen in his office discussing the matter with army officials and later instructed the teachers to discourage students from talking about the event.
Numerous researchers tried to locate official records of the event in the National Archives of Australia. Some documents reference the incident and indicate the location of official files, but investigations revealed that documentation was missing. Official army records also make no mention of the event. Investigators visited the local airport hoping to find the pilots of five small planes seen in the sky during the incident. Once again, no records were found.

Although, in the Westall case, there are no reports of fatal reprisals, this does seem to be a phenomenon that occurs within the realm of UFO cover-ups, at least according to newly available information.
According to the latest information from journalist Ross Coulthart, FBI Director Kash Patel is conducting a covert investigation into allegations that UFO witnesses and whistleblowers have been murdered to protect government secrets, maintaining the cover-up of these phenomena. This is the first known record of a high-ranking law enforcement official treating such allegations seriously, with full authority to pursue potential criminal charges.
The investigation gains further credibility in light of increasing testimonies in Congress, which point to a pattern of intimidation and possible killings of witnesses. During the July 26, 2023 hearing, former intelligence officer David Grusch was asked about whether people had been harmed or killed to cover up extraterrestrial technology. When Representative Tim Burchett asked Grusch if he had “personal knowledge of individuals who were harmed or killed in efforts to conceal this extraterrestrial technology,” Grusch simply responded: “Yes.”
The tone of the hearing became even tenser when Burchett pressed, asking whether anyone had been assassinated. According to Congressional records, Grusch replied: “I referred the people with that knowledge to the appropriate authorities.” He stated he could discuss the details in a classified setting, but access to a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) was denied for the public hearing.
Grusch’s testimony is corroborated by other whistleblowers. In statements to the Weaponized podcast, whistleblower Matthew Brown claimed that “lethal actions were taken against people who tried to reveal the truth.” Brown added that he believes people were killed because they “knew too much about the subject” and commented that he “could probably help someone else prove this.”
The pattern of intimidation goes beyond isolated cases. Brown described a network of whistleblowers, stating that “if all of us die or are imprisoned, the seeds have been planted, more will come.” This suggests an organized effort to silence witnesses, generating fear across the UFO disclosure community.

What makes Patel’s investigation unprecedented is the combination of authority and access. As FBI Director, he has jurisdiction over federal crimes, including murder and witness intimidation. Unlike previous UFO researchers who only collected testimonies, Patel has the power to subpoena documents, interview witnesses under oath, and potentially bring criminal charges against those involved in covering up UFO-related secrets.
Patel’s experience provides a privileged insight into potential government programs related to UFO witnesses. According to his official biography, he served as Assistant to the President on the National Security Council, Principal Deputy to the Acting Director of National Intelligence, and Chief of Staff to the Acting Secretary of Defense. These roles gave him access to classified information about government programs handling UFO witnesses, intimidation operations, and cover-ups.
The scope of the investigation could be vast, potentially covering federal crimes spanning 75 years and involving multiple agencies. According to Senator Marco Rubio, many UFO witnesses still live “in fear of their jobs, afraid something might happen to them,” suggesting that intimidation efforts continue today. This indicates that Patel may be investigating active criminal operations.

The investigation fundamentally changes the UFO disclosure debate. Rather than focusing solely on the existence of the phenomena, the focus now is on how many people may have been killed to keep the truth hidden. Federal prosecutors often dismantle criminal organizations by starting with the operatives and offering plea deals in exchange for information about the leaders of the operations.
The implications are profound. If Patel succeeds in building criminal cases against those responsible for intimidating witnesses, it could lead to legal agreements that expose decades of illegal activity related to UFOs. The investigation could result in criminal charges, new Congressional hearings, and revelations that make previous UFO disclosures appear minor in comparison to the magnitude of this case.
