In the latest episode of Reality Check with Ross Coulthart, investigative journalist Ross Coulthart presented an exclusive interview that promises to shake the ufology and paranormal communities. The highlight of the episode was Mike Battista, nicknamed “Magic Mike,” a former U.S. Army Green Beret who left the military in 2021.
Battista, now working as a psychic with the Skywatcher group — led by Jake Barber, known for psychic invocation practices — revealed material that Coulthart described as “extraordinary.” The video, recorded in 2023, reportedly shows an entity capable of changing forms, ranging from a typical grey alien to an insectoid creature resembling a praying mantis, and at times, figures reminiscent of ancient petroglyphs.
According to Battista, the recording took place during a contact that challenged his understanding of reality. He claims that moments before the event, he received a clear telepathic message from the entity, instructing him to “watch your dog” because it was going to land. Shortly afterward, Battista reported experiencing an episode of missing time.
He was in his workshop and suddenly lost consciousness, waking up on his sofa — about 450 feet from his original location — with no memory of how he got there.
The video, shown during the program, depicts the creature undergoing bizarre shape changes, while other elements appear in the background, which Battista describes as “beings or objects interacting with it.” For Coulthart, who often receives numerous blurry or low-quality videos, this footage stands out due to its clarity and unprecedented content. He emphasized that he had never seen such a detailed recording of a supposed shapeshifting entity.
Battista’s journey into the world of paranormal phenomena began years earlier, unexpectedly, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. One night while skywatching, he spotted a luminous orb. Acting on impulse, he made a mental request for the object to stop — and, surprisingly, it did. He then asked the orb to emit a bright light. The phenomenon responded immediately, shining “like a mini-sun” before vanishing.
This experience, which Battista calls a “pulse up,” was the turning point that allegedly awakened his psychic abilities and motivated him to explore direct interaction with unidentified phenomena.
An intriguing element of the investigation emerged when Coulthart’s team compared one of the forms assumed by the entity to ancient petroglyphs found in Utah. Coincidentally, Battista and his colleague Karl Crusher had visited this archaeological site shortly before the recording.
The petroglyphs depict humanoid figures holding what appear to be heads or shields. For Battista, the resemblance is no coincidence: he believes the creature intentionally reproduced these forms as a form of communication, suggesting that ancient civilizations witnessed similar phenomena and recorded their experiences in stone.

In a recent post on his X account, the former Green Beret described himself as follows:
“I am Mike Battista, a former Green Beret and an active Psychic with the Skywatcher team, and my experience in special operations has taught me precision, discipline, and structure. I have hundreds of field encounters with UAP phenomena as a professional Psychic, using my abilities to ‘summon’ UAPs through telepathic methods, as well as to recognize these abilities in other agents. When psionics are practiced with intention, experience, and in the proper environment, contact with UAPs can be initiated and objectively recorded as data.”
I’m no longer sure whether the issue of “psionics” is well-accepted within the ufology community. Many make claims, but few can provide concrete evidence. Regarding Battista’s footage, honestly, we cannot draw any definitive conclusions.
Furthermore, the correlation between the phenomenon and those who claim to be able to summon it is a very delicate topic. We know there is some connection to the psyche, but does it really work in the way some men claim they can invoke it? The nuances are many.
Therefore, while Battista’s experiences spark curiosity and raise fascinating questions about the interaction between human consciousness and UAPs, maintaining healthy skepticism is essential.
