Declassified government documents have revealed an intriguing UFO sighting involving officers from the Anoka Police Department in the state of Minnesota, United States.
The incident took place during the early hours of February 19, 2025, and was later forwarded to the FBI before recently being made publicly available through the American National Archives.
According to the report, three police employees were participating in a training exercise near the police station when they noticed an unusual luminous object in the sky at around 1:15 a.m. The phenomenon remained visible for approximately 90 minutes and drew attention due to its constantly shifting multicolored lights, described by witnesses as resembling a “tie-dye” effect.
The officers used binoculars to observe the object more closely, estimating that it was flying at an altitude between 10,000 and 30,000 feet. At certain moments, the UFO appeared to be positioned over the Lake Minnetonka area, but shortly afterward it allegedly moved rapidly toward the Monticello Nuclear Power Plant.
According to the document, the object displayed extremely rapid and unusual movements, traveling dozens of kilometers within just a few seconds. One of the witnesses stated that its motion looked “like a stone skipping across the sky,” behavior considered inconsistent with known aircraft or satellite activity.
The report also described the UFO as resembling “an atomic orbital diagram,” featuring six illuminated circular structures surrounding the main object.
The officer responsible for filing the report also stated that two days earlier he had witnessed another similar phenomenon while on night patrol. On that occasion, he described a diamond-shaped object with multicolored lights moving in several directions at astonishing speeds before suddenly disappearing into the night sky.
Attempting to document the incident, the officer used an iPhone camera pointed through binocular lenses, but said the footage turned out blurry and practically unusable.
After spending some time observing the phenomenon, the three police employees eventually left the area because of the intense cold. However, the reporting officer later claimed to have spotted another similar object closer to the city, also located north of the region.
He further added that similar phenomena had reportedly been observed previously around Anoka, including an object hovering near the local ice arena in September 2022.
