Charlie Kirk was an influential American conservative political activist, co-founder of the organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA), and a close ally of President Donald Trump. At 31 years old, Kirk stood out for mobilizing conservative youth through university debates and his digital platforms. On September 10, 2025, during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, Kirk was fatally shot by a gunman positioned approximately 180 meters away in a building near the speech venue. The attack, which occurred while Kirk was discussing gun violence, resulted in his death at the hospital shortly after the incident.
The assassination caused widespread outrage and condemnation, with authorities and public figures across the political spectrum expressing their grief. President Donald Trump described the act as a “political assassination” and ordered that flags across the country be flown at half-staff for four days.
Amid this tragedy, speculation arose about the possible presence of an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) or an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) near the crime scene.
Jason Goodman, founder of the Crowdsource the Truth channel, posted on his X account (formerly Twitter) yesterday, a post that has already garnered over 2 million views and more than 1,000 shares. The influencer raised a hypothesis based on a video recorded moments after the tragic incident.
The 16-second footage appears to have been captured by one of the university campus’s surveillance cameras or by someone who was streaming the event. In fact, a fast-moving object can be seen in the recording.
For those who are unaware, since Kirk’s assassination three days ago, various conspiracy theories have begun circulating across social media about who was truly responsible for the crime. As is often the case in such events, speculation is widespread, and numerous hypotheses continue to emerge every day.
Although the video shows something moving at high speed, there is no clear indication that it is anything unusual—it could very well be a bird or even an insect. Nevertheless, the issue has only just begun, and many questions remain unanswered.
Do any UAS or UAV experts know who was flying a drone on Utah Valley University campus just minutes after Charlie Kirk was assassinated? Does @PalmerLuckey recognize this aircraft? It's moving pretty fast… maybe it's a dragonfly or a duck pic.twitter.com/vvpyp4Y2Yd

Jason Goodman’s post, as expected, generated a strong reaction. Some users, after watching the video with the “object” in slow motion and highlighted zoom, immediately associated it with a bird.
One person posted a screenshot of the footage and said: “I say bird. Not a lot of small fixed wing drones out there that move that fast. Also, campus police are pretty good at preventing drone flight on any given normal day.”
Others suggested that it could actually be a bee. One user commented: “Expert here. That’s a bee. 🐝 Wingspan isn’t big enough for fixed wing flight.”
Goodman, however, appears convinced that some unidentified flying technology was monitoring the entire situation. He even posted two photos of a high-speed drone to accompany his initial post.
Does anyone know what are we looking at in this video less than a minute after Charlie Kirk was shot?
After all, @PalmerLuckey isn’t the only high speed, killer drone mogul in town…

The drone in the image is the “400KHM Speed Drone,” designed for high-speed flight. It is a 3D-printed racing drone created by a contributor on the Cults platform named DAVE_C_FPV. Some visible details in the photo include its four motors with high-speed propellers, arranged in an inverted “quad” configuration to maximize aerodynamics, and the 3D-printed body, designed to reduce drag and achieve very high speeds. This model is primarily intended for FPV racing (first-person view flight) or speed testing, and is not suitable for standard aerial photography.
In response, other users made the following comments:
“It’s probably a bee or fly very close to the camera. The frame at 2 seconds looks VERY much like a fly or bee with its wings open. Add to that the fact that no other camera captured a drone or anything similar during the event. It’s very likely just a bee or fly”, said one user.
“No man-made drone can fly that fast, even some with classified technology. It covered about 1.6 km in less than a second. The aerodynamics of any drone simply wouldn’t allow this. It’s like supersonic speed. Either it’s a hoax or some kind of alien technology”, said another.
“It’s not a dragonfly or a duck—someone wanted eyes in the sky before the crowd even realized what was happening. The timing is too perfect to be a coincidence. Who launched the rocket, and why right there, at that moment?”, said another user.
Goodman also posted another video, apparently recorded from a different angle and camera, which, according to him, would show “that unidentified flying object again.”
Wow! Here's that unknown flying object again just about 30 seconds after Charlie Kirk was shot at @UVU. This sure is an unusually perfect orbital path for a bird or insect to fly in. Is @PalmerLuckey sure this isn't a drone? pic.twitter.com/koelK2ywrV

For contrast and to support his hypothesis, countering what seems obvious—a bird or insect—Goodman also presented another video, filmed by the same videographer as the previous footage, just a few seconds earlier. According to him, it is possible to distinguish between the two; in this case, the object appears to be a bird, different from what is seen in the first footage.
I'm glad you brought that to our attention. I think this one is a bird and that's good to compare. This one is moving up and down in a more organic way as it flies left to right and the shape seems to change frame over frame. I also see motion blur that looks like wing flapping. pic.twitter.com/6S89pgAbaR

“This could definitely be a bug if not a bird. My primary point is this looks to me like a living creature in flight; its shape changes almost every frame and we see what looks like motion-blurred wing movement. It’s very different than the other clips”, he said.
HustleBitch, another right-wing conservative and supporter of President Donald Trump, also supports Goodman’s view. He reposted the post, commenting: “A drone was flying directly overhead when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, capturing EVERYTHING. Guess who owns it? (Hint: it’s NOT a consumer drone.)”
The repost has already garnered over 3 million views and more than 5,000 shares, even surpassing Jason Goodman’s post, showing that many people are interested in the topic.
But is there really something interesting here? Could something bigger and more significant have gone unnoticed, and is Kirk’s assassination part of a much larger and more powerful plot?
The fact is that the assassination of this young political activist, regardless of his political stance, leaves the Western democratic world more polarized and violent, deepening existing divisions and fueling theories, suspicions, and fears that make dialogue and civil coexistence more difficult. It serves as a grim reminder that acts of political violence have effects far beyond the immediate victims, impacting society as a whole and reinforcing social, cultural, and ideological tensions.
