A lightning-like descent from the sky, an intense light striking a small hill near the town, and a white glow that turned the early morning into full daylight. That was the scene witnessed by Eve Díaz, a 30 year old photographer and resident of Clemente Onelli, a development commission in the 25 de Mayo department, in the province of Río Negro, in Patagônia.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m., when Eve went out with a friend to photograph the moon. As they crossed the entrance to the town, she noticed unusual activity on a nearby hill.
According to her account, the beam appeared to strike the elevated terrain directly. Initially, the light was reddish and moved rapidly in a circular trajectory, making it difficult to capture immediately.
Seconds later, the phenomenon transformed into an intense and uniform white glow that illuminated the entire ground surface.
The brightness was so strong that the landscape appeared to be in full daylight for approximately five seconds.
The image was captured precisely at 4 a.m. Shortly afterward, the luminosity disappeared without leaving visible traces.
Despite the impact of the moment, Eve said she did not feel fear. While her companion panicked and moved away quickly, she remained focused on observing the phenomenon.
Driven by curiosity, she concentrated on documenting the event and understanding what was happening.
She also noted that she had seen unusual lights in Patagonian skies before, but emphasized that this experience was very different, especially due to the extraordinary intensity of the illumination.
Upon returning home, Eve told her mother what had happened, describing the event as a possible unidentified flying object.
The reaction was calm and humorous, reflecting how some local residents respond to unusual reports.

Theories about what was observed
The viral spread of the image sparked intense online debate. Due to the remote location along National Route 23, far from significant urban lighting or infrastructure, conventional explanations appear insufficient.
On social media, users are considering several hypotheses, from ancestral to technological, human or non human.
Anchimayén, a mythological light associated with Mapuche culture, described as a luminous being frequently reported in the region.
Atmospheric phenomena, although the intensity and direction of the light do not match common meteorological records.
UFOs, since the region is often cited as an area of unidentified anomalous phenomena sightings.
Technology or surveillance, more controversial theories link the event to the recent wave of wildfires in Patagonia.
For Eve and residents of the 25 de Mayo department, the object that emitted a beam of light from the sky is another chapter in the long history of unresolved mysteries in the region.
