Little is known about this intriguing video, except that it was filmed by a woman somewhere in France. The footage, which has gone viral on Instagram, shows a strange object slowly rising into the sky behind an apartment building on a relatively cloudy day.
The object’s shape is roughly humanoid, and for a moment it appears to hover in the air, defying any easy explanation. The camera zooms in for a closer look, but the magnification only increases the distortion, making it even harder to identify what is actually being captured.
The recording, published on the page ‘scaryencounter,’ shows a shadowy figure slowly ascending into the sky. Its shape, eerily reminiscent of a “witch” flying on a broomstick, has divided internet users. The caption accompanying the video reads:
“A woman in France captured a chilling moment on camera – a strange figure slowly rising into the sky. The eerie sight, recorded on September 13, 2023, has left many people puzzled and curious about what it could be. Some believe it might be a witch flying on a broomstick, while others are convinced it’s a UFO. What do you think? Could this be a witch, a UFO, or something supernatural like a Jinn?”
Reactions ranged from humor to direct speculation. One user joked, “Don’t be afraid, it’s just my mother-in-law,” while another commented, “It’s just a drone with a witch costume. Brilliant idea.” A third observer simply wrote, “Let it fly in peace.”
However, not everyone took the situation as a joke. Some users argued that the flying object could be a balloon or a drone designed to resemble a witch, while others speculated that it might have been a jetpack experiment.

The Image Reminds of the ‘Bruja de Monterrey’ Case
La Bruja de Monterrey is a supposed witch that was reportedly seen flying over the Cerro de las Mitras in Monterrey, Mexico.
The sighting occurred on May 17, 2006, by members of the OVNI Club Nuevo León, founded and directed by investigator Diana Perla Chapa. The group filmed a humanoid figure dressed entirely in black, with a hood covering its head. Witnesses were positioned atop the Cerro de las Mitras, located in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
Two years earlier, on January 16, 2004, a police officer from the municipality of Guadalupe, also in Nuevo León, reported encountering what he described as a witch. The event received extensive coverage in local and national media. Journalist and ufologist Jaime Maussan attempted to link the incident to the Flatwoods Monster case, showing images of the monster to officer Leonardo Samaniego and claiming the figures were very similar to what he had seen.
Samaniego stated that he saw a large black object falling from a tree onto the sidewalk, but it stopped just before hitting the ground. The object then flew and began to levitate slowly, turning to face the police vehicle. The officer turned on the high beams and saw that the figure was a woman dressed in black, with large black eyes without eyelids. The “thing” attacked the windshield, as if trying to grab the officer, who reversed the vehicle but eventually crashed at the end of the street, not before calling for help on the radio.
Could Both Cases Involve Amorphous UFOs?
Since the modern era of ufology, reports have emerged of objects with a wide variety of shapes and sizes: discs, cylinders, spheres, ellipses, and even objects without a defined shape — some of which change their appearance and form. These last ones are known as metamorphic or amorphous.
If the reports are accurate, the cases above could fit into this class of UFOs. Around the world, unidentified objects have been recorded that deviate from conventional observational patterns.
Metamorphs are structures or objects — which can appear as points of light, energy, plasma, or other forms — that display a particularly intriguing characteristic: the ability to change color, shape, and appearance, much like a true aerial metamorphosis.
As far as we know, all metamorphic UFOs are amorphous, but not all amorphous UFOs are metamorphic. Amorphous UFOs are unidentified flying objects with indecipherable shapes that defy known patterns. The word “amorphous” comes from the Greek a- (without) and morphē (form), used to describe something that lacks a defined structure.
In the context of UFOs, an amorphous object is one that does not fit into any known geometric shape or pattern, appearing undefined or without a clear structure.
